When you are our walking around, you know there are risks. Drivers have a bad habit of not paying attention to pedestrians around them. However, you probably never think you are in danger of a vehicle accident when you are inside your home. Today, our car crash lawyers in San Diego want to discuss a recent crash in the city that may leave you wondering how it happened. At The Law Offices of Eugene G. Bruno, you can count on us to help you in the aftermath of a car accident.
We all expect that some vehicle drivers will do negligent things that lead to regular types of incidents:
However, we usually do not think about vehicle versus building crashes. That is exactly what happened recently when a teen driver on his way back from a party in Carmel Valley crashed his BMW through the wall of a house.
Police say that the incident happened in the late afternoon of August 16. Witnesses say the driver was speeding at the time of the incident and surveillance from across the street captured the whole thing. The teen driver was making a right turn from Lopelia Meadows onto Golden Lily when he lost control, jumped the curb, and crashed straight into the home.
While we do not have exact statistics on how often this type of accident happens, we know that people could get seriously injured. Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt in this case. As of right now, we do not know if the driver has been charged or cited for any violations.
While the above incident is rare, car accidents themselves are not. During the latest reporting year in California, there were hundreds of thousands of vehicle accidents that led to over 273,000 injuries and nearly 4,000 total fatalities.
In many cases, these accidents happen due to grossly negligent driving behavior. In the case above, the driver was exceeding the speed limit, and witnesses say he did not even stop at the stop sign. In other cases, we know alcohol impairment is a major contributor to overall traffic injuries and fatalities. Distracted driving is still a rising concern across all age groups.
Regardless of how you have been injured in a vehicle crash, you may need to seek legal assistance. You should not be on the line for expenses because of another person’s careless or negligent behavior. At The Law Offices of Eugene G. Bruno, we are ready to step in and help you get the compensation you deserve. This can include:
