Two people were seriously hurt the other day in a car accident in Carmel Mountain. Police say that the accident happened when an SUV ran through a red light and collided with another vehicle at an intersection.
A 27-year-old driver with a passenger in a Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Ted Williams Parkway when the driver tried to make a left turn onto Highland Ranch Road. He was struck by an SUV that ran a red light while traveling westbound on Ted Williams.
The passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital with major internal injuries. The passengers in the Toyota sustained minor injuries.
